vUSAF Pilots are some of the most highly skilled and professional pilots on the VATSIM Network. We're looking for experienced pilots who are seeking a new dimension within our hobby - one that will CONSTANTLY challenge them! We are not an Organization that teaches basic flying and navigation skills, nor do we teach new members how to fly online.
We seek applicants who are experienced real world or virtual pilots - with significant verifiable flight experience with a VA or VATSIM military or paramilitary organization. Applicants should have good instrument flying skills and be comfortable flying IFR and talking to ATC. Further, we expect all applicants have the time to commit to completing the training necessary to become Combat Mission Ready (CMR). Our members typically fly 2+ hours each week - members in training should expect to fly more frequently in order to complete their training within the required timeframe. New members will have four weeks to complete Initial Pilot Training (IPT).
Since vUSAF membership affords us special privileges to conduct military flight operations on the VATSIM network - operations which are prohibited otherwise - we are looking for mature and responsible pilots. We have zero-tolerance for pilots who are reckless and immature. We are serious about our hobby - to us this is serious fun!
Requirements of membership:
1. FS2004 or FSX (Sorry - no X-plane at this time!)
2. Pilot applicants
must have demonstrated online flight experience on the VATSIM
Network.
(We verify flight experience through your VATSIM ID!)
3. vUSAF Controller Applicants are required to hold S-3 and Voice ratings.
4. The ability to speak, read, and understand English. (We must be able to communicate.)
5. Voice capabilities are required - we do NOT conduct operations via text.
6. FSInn installed, tested, and working. (SB3 requires a special waiver.)
In closing, for proprietary reasons, we ask that you DO NOT maintain memberships in other virtual organizations that recreate in part or whole the actual U.S. Air Force or this virtual organization. Such iniquitous memberships are considered a conflict of interest thus prohibited by our organization. This restriction is in place for the purpose of protecting this organization’s intellectual material developed by it’s members over the past ten years.
Submitting an application signifies that you have read, understand, and accept these requirements. Further, you agree that we will assign your aircraft and Major Command based on our current Organizational needs, space available within our training Wings, your age and experience - requesting an airframe does not guarantee you will be assigned it. If you cannot meet these requirements or agree to our Terms, do not complete the application.
