Very enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing. That fellow's reaction was real and you can tell he was humbled by that experience -- as I would have been. Several years back, I sat with friends at the bar in the O'Club on Kadena Air Base talking with one of our SR-71 pilots. I asked, "Hey Major, just how high do you get in the blackbird." I figured we had bought him enough drinks to loosen him up a bit. His response was - and I quote: "Now, Jerry, you know I can't tell you that." (smiling) "But to give you some idea, I wear a space suit."

Now this is very rare as it was extremely dangerous and only done during testing until Lockheed came out with the U-2R version which improved fuel burn for longer range.
Vito This stuff is sweet maybe we could get you guys set up with a live camera feed battlefield role? just a question that would be sweet for RFA commanders to get the ultimate birds eye view of bombers coming in on target! or of fighters being engaged and up to date SITREPS ETC the possibilities are endless!

Well, doyou guys know SAG-TV? The german VACC has a freeware program that will send a screenshot of your FS (and all other things like porn etc. you´re looking at in case you miss to get the settings right ) every 10 seconds into the net.
Have a look here and click on the blue "online" to see what´s happening in other peoples cockpit:

The evil of the thriller....
Yes actually the vUSN has used something like it for it's CATCC Deck Video feed. It's very useful and would add some great feature to our ability. The only issue I see is that as a U-2 guy we're so high that unless we can get it to zoom it might not be that useful. But I'm definitely very receptive and interested in this train of thought.
Side note: just got out of Francis Gary Powers, Jr.'s presentation about his father and the U2 at AirVenture. Really interesting to hear the story told by his son. May need to go buy his father's book now.
