Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q: I am having trouble getting in touch with my Commander. What do I do?
A:  Try to go up your Chain of Command, as they can usually help you. If for some reason you feel like you cannot get a response, you are always welcome to email Robert Phillips , who can help you out.

APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Q: I have applied at the Virtual United States Air Force. Now what?
A:  Check your email. All the details have been emailed to your address.

Q: I applied, but never got any email. What do I do?
A:  Under normal circumstances, the server will send you the email within a matter of seconds. However, sometimes our mail server may be busy, and may have a queue to send out mail. Also, sometimes your Email Provider's mail server may be bogged down as well. However, if you haven't received any email within 12 hours, please contact us by clicking here. It could be that your spam controls are blocking it, or you typed in the wrong address.

Q: I need assistance with this Training Syllabus thing, who can I ask?
A:  You should contact the Air Education and Training Commander.

LOGIN QUESTIONS
Q:  What is the difference between a PIN and my USAF ID?
A:  Your PIN is always going to be the same. No matter what, your PIN will not change. Your USAF ID can change when you transfer to different Commands and whatnot. The PIN is a 2-3 digit number that the database uses to recognize you.

Q:  Help! I forgot my password.
A:  Have no worries my friend. When you are about to Log-In, simply click "Password Retrieval System." Your password will be emailed to you.

Q:  I forgot my password, and I cannot access my email address.
A:  You will need to contact us in order to get your email and password updated.

Q:  How do I change my password or update my email address?
A:  To update your password, log in to the Secure Area and click Update Personal Information. To update your email address, please log in to the Secure Area, click vUSAF Request System, and click Submit New Ticket. Select "Air Force Personnel Center" as the department, and type Email Address Change as the subject. Please include all the details in the message box. The first available staff member will take care of your request.

MISSION ASSIGNMENTS
Q: I cannot access the Missions Page. What is wrong?
A:  Make sure you are logged in to the secure area before you try to click on Missions.

Q: What is this big, long Mission ID?
A:  This is the ID of the Mission you are flying. If you fail to include this ID on your Mission Report (PiRep), the Database has no way of knowing that you have completed that Mission, and the Mission will remain on the Mission Assignment pages.

MISREP QUESTIONS
Q:  I have filed a MISRep, and my Form 201 does not reflect my hours.
A:  Your PiRep is pending approval by your commander.

Q:  I messed up a MISRep, and it has not been approved yet, can I fix it?
A:  Yes and No. You cannot update portions of a PiRep. However, you can click Cancel Mission Report, and click on the Pending PiRep that you want to cancel.

Q:  My Commander is out of town, who can approve my MISRep.
A:  Go up your Chain of Command. They will help you.

Q:  My MISRep was approved, and my Form 201 was updated, but my Mission was not removed from the Mission Assignments page.
A:   Uh-Oh. You forgot to include the Mission ID. You must contact your MAJCOM Commander to remove it from the database. If your MAJCOM Commander is unable to remove it, you can contact any Administrator.

Q:  I am not showing up on the Mission Assignments Page.
A:  You don't have a Mission Assigned to you. Simply contact your Chain of Command for a new assignment.
