13 Aug 2007: During Operation Red Flag Alaska, vLGen. George Sandel distinguished himself by contributing countless hours to the planning, implementation, coordination and control of the event. He served as the Joint Forces Commander and provided the invaluabe services of command and coordination for the Operation. In addition to his contributions to the success of the Event in the aforementioned capacity, he prepared much of the scenery updates and assisted in the development of ATOs and the Event Flow Card. In recognition of his leadership in the event, vLGen. Sandel brought credit upon himself as a member of the Air Staff and brought honor to the vUSAF. He is hereby recommended for the vUSAF Meritorius Service Award

13 Aug 2007: AFSOC distinguished themselves while deployed to RED FLAG ALASKA, 8JUL2007-15JUL2007 At which time, members of AFSOC performed numerous missions under extreme conditions. AFSOC performed Recon, Extract and Infiltration Missions, as well as fire support missions. All missions were completed within time limits, and all targets were destroyed and every member actively supported the mission through airlift, recon, infiltration and other missions that were assigned to them.

19 Nov 2008: From May 20,2008 - June 29, 2008 ,vLtCol Gary Fournerat, vCapt Dave Mulligan, vLtGen George Sandel, flew 40+ tankers mission in support of the vUSN during their WESTPAC '08 Cruise. This detachment of the 384th ARS, under the leadership of vLtCol Fournerat, successfully completed all missions they were tasked with. Their performance reflects great credit, upon themselves, the 384th ARS, and the vUSAF.
