18 Sep 2006: During the period of Cope Thunder 2006, vMajor Danny Davis, Commander, 7th Bomb Squadron, distinguished himself as a new unit commander and by flying lead in several formations and by total determination did destroyed 66 Air to Ground targets. vMajor Davis with no previous experience in leadership and little practice in the virtual combat arena maintained his confidence and natural leadership abilities to guide himself and his wingman to the targets. For his actions during this period vMajor Danny Davis brought credit upon himself, his unit (7th Bomb Squadron) and the Air Combat Command (ACC) and is hereby awarded the vUSAF Distinguished Flying Cross Medal.

10 Oct 2009: Per MAJCOM/CC: From the period of 01 August, 200p to 10 October, 2009, vCOL Danny Davis, Commander of the 509th BW, Whiteman AFB, has distinguished himself and his unit with his leadership abilities. Colonel Davis has taken a unit with very poor participation and retention and turned it into one of the vACC top units busy with constant unit exercises, which has honed the combat skills of his men. For his leadership abilities, I hereby recommend that vCol Davis be awarded the Commendation medal.
