5 Apr 2007: vMajor Curtis Young distinguished himself by meritorious service as Instructor Pilot, C- 130, 124th Airlift Wing, 189th Airlift Squadron, IDANG, Gowen Field International Airport, Idaho November 11th, 2006 to December 31st 2006. During this period, vMaj Hunt’s professional skill, attention to detail and dedication were key to the success of OPERATION DEEP FREEZE 2006-2007. vMaj Hunt flew a total of 27 missions totaling 180 flight hours and was directly responsible for safely delivering on time critical airlift required totaling 204,000 pounds of valuable cargo and 55 key personnel. The distinctive accomplishments of vMaj Hunt reflect credit upon himself and the Virtual USAF Idaho Air National Guard.

He flew a total of 11 sorties, moving 420 people and 370,000 pounds of cargo while accumulating over 21 hours of flight time during this two week period. Colonel Young’s actions are a credit upon himself and the VUSAF as a whole. For this, he is awarded the Aerial Achievement medal.
