During this high demand time he performed many tasks above and beyond those normally associated with the position of Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans and Programs. 13 Aug 2007: AFSOC distinguished themselves while deployed to RED FLAG ALASKA, 8JUL2007-15JUL2007 At which time, members of AFSOC performed numerous missions under extreme conditions. AFSOC performed Recon, Extract and Infiltration Missions, as well as fire support missions. All missions were completed within time limits, and all targets were destroyed and every member actively supported the mission through airlift, recon, infiltration and other missions that were assigned to them.

His dedication to the vUSAF can be seen in his constant planning for AFOSC activities and with his dedication for his members, this citation is to make sure that this does not go unrewarded.

During this period, the airmanship and dedication exhibited by LG Schultz in the successful accomplishment of 8 missions comprising of 28 legs with a total of over 182 flight hours demonstrated his outstanding proficiency and steadfast devotion to duty. The professional ability and outstanding aerial accomplishments of LG Schultz reflect great credit upon himself and the Virtual United States Air Force's 1st Special Operations Wing, AFSOC.

19 Sep 2009: The 1st Special Operations Wing AFSOC Pilots and attached Pilots flew a combine total of 62 assigned AFSOC missions representing 1,292.68 hours in support of Operation Deep Freeze 2009. I am requesting the 1st Special Operations Wing be awarded the Unit Citation Award for their dedication and participation under extreme flying conditions in support of Operation Deep Freeze 2008 - 2009. These pilots endured long hours in C-130E/H or MC-130W without relief in turbulent weather while delivery supplies to the various outposts in Antarctica.
